The City of Albuquerque is taking steps to provide residents with safer, greener, and smarter streetlights

About EnvisionABQ

EnvisionABQ is an innovative, citywide program that will upgrade Albuquerque's old street lighting in favor of newer, brighter, and more energy-efficient LED technology.

Throughout 2018, approximately 20,000 streetlights were upgraded to meet the lighting needs of individual neighborhoods and traffic corridors.

Albuquerque residents will experience a more efficient and beautiful streetlighting system that is managed through technology, they will also reap the benefits of a higher percentage of operational streetlights and faster response times in repairing outages. The project, in partnership with Citelum, is being funded through its own cost savings and at no additional charge to taxpayers or customers.

ā€œIā€™m dedicated to making the City of Albuquerque a safe, innovative and inclusive community.ā€
